TheStar.com | GTA | City may restrict right-hand turns: "In the 1970s, Toronto used to turn Yonge St. into a giant pedestrian mall for part of the summer. Complaints that the mall had become fertile ground for drug pushers and other criminals led to its cancellation."
They should totally revive this.
This would be pretty neat. It would be Pedestrian Sunday at Kensington, except on Yonge which would totally move it to the mainstream.
And drug pushers are less of a problem now than it was in the 70's.
