this my first venu for the night @ G+Galleries.
I can't really take pics of the work, but I can say they are great. I
especially like the Yosamite Sam with his arm chewed off by The
Tasmanian Devil and the "Saffron on Black Fabric" motif in Kate Brown's
"Fearful Symmetry."

Emily Simeks evokative sketches of womon and modernity are also great.

US mis-management in Afghanistan

I read this story in disbelief.

GDP/Capita of Afghanistan = 1310
GDP/Capita of the United States = 41399

$20 for toll road is equal to ~1.5% of GDP/capita of Afghanistan
1.5% of GDP/capita of US is ~$632.05

Can't imagine anybody paying that much to use a road. Even for a monthly pass.

This means that an Afghan merchant will have to pay the American equivalent of about seven thousand dollars per year just to use the main highway.
