Mele getting chummy with the clown
I just had to load this picture. it's the weirdest thing. To the right, everybody know who he is. The man pitching semi-beef and breadlike spoges to billions. To the left is possibly a less well know, but also important figure: the president of McDonald's Canada, one of their most profitable markets.
I found this picture in a McDiarrhea near my house. I just don't fully understand who the hell thought this would be a good idea. The great success of Ronald McDonald is his ability to put a benign, silly-grin to one of the Earth's most powerful corporations. Why would you ruin that illusion by putting him next to the pink-skinned, old, white male that typifies the-powers-that-be.
Also, what the the hell does this old guy thinks he stand to gain posing for a picture like this and shown to all his customers. I know as Preisdent of McDonald's, you have to convey authority, that's why you wear the suit. But don't you think that authority is undermined with an identical grin as the guy in the clown suit next to you?
Also, note the pose. Arms crossed and back to back to convey they are a team that is ready to take down all comers. They used to used this pose quire often when they had to team up superheros in the comic books from the seventies. With the big san serif title splashed across the poster, "WHO IS LOUIE W. MELE?"
This is like a cover for Amazing Adventures, all it need is a few minor characters sticking out in the backgroud. Maybe Gramace facing down the Hamburgler and Birdie gazing up towards the duo with the thought bubble "Will they always workout?"
